Chanté Moore on a whole otha level..

Last year I had the opportunity to witness Chanté Moore in concert for the first time at the Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C. (Temika Moore opened the show). Undoubtedly, I left that night thinking this woman has got to be one of the most underrated singers indeed, but the moment I can never forget is something that happened while she sang 'Alright'. She stayed in her upper register for like 5 -6 mins! It's like she was having her own personal chat with God..I'll never forget that..what a blessing.

In my readings the other day, I came across something written by Oswald Chambers that resonated within my spirit and confirmed what happened that night during that song.Oswald Chambers has wisely commented on the transforming power of even 5 minutes in the presence of the Lord. Indeed, even a short time spent in intercession and the Word still has great value: “It is not the thing on which we spend the most time that moulds us, but the thing that exerts the greatest power. Five minutes with God and His Word is worth more than all the rest of the day.”

Bringing it up to 21st century reading, Rick Warren says
How do you love people who, even when you do understand them, you find them unlovable? “God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:8 NIV). In Greek, the word “affection” is the word for intestines. In Greek society, the Greeks thought that the seat of the emotions was in your stomach, your liver, your internal organs.Paul was saying, “I’ve got a gut feeling of love for you.” That is not a natural kind of love. It is a supernatural kind of love. That’s why Paul said it’s not from himself, but it’s the affection of Christ Jesus. Human love wears out and dries up and dies on the vine. The only kind of love that lasts in spite of heartache and difficulty in tough circumstances is God’s love — the affection of Jesus Christ.

So how do you get this kind of gut love? “God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us” (Romans 5:5). God’s love is not something you work up. It is something that is poured into you by the Holy Spirit as you let him live in you day by day.
