People ask me all the time how I did it. What was my path to success? Did I put in my 10,000 hours or did I take short cuts? Do I work 24/7? What are my secrets? What do I attribute my success to? Have I achieved all of my dreams or is there more?
Confidence
I think the number one thing that is behind my success is confidence in what I do. I think first and foremost it’s knowing what you are good at and then going for it with all of your gusto. Hold nothing back, no matter how long the dry spells last because there are always ups and downs.
Work Ethic
Number two is work ethic. I don’t work 24/7 anymore but I won’t lie, I used to. I built my business on my backbone – you’re going to need to. Now I work a hefty 4-5 day per week 10-12 hour schedule but I have 2 weeks off every month just to write, work on projects or go have fun in the sun. Whereas I used to have 4 weeks of clients. And, I make more money now than I ever did! I’ve taught this technique to a few of my students who have coaching businesses that has completely rocked their lives too!
Passion
Don’t fool yourself. If you don’t love it, you won’t slave away the hours you need to put in to make it happen. You have to put off what you’d rather do for what you should do and master that muscle and passion is what tips the scale in your favor. If I had to do it over and I knew how hard the climb was I don’t know if I would have worked so hard to get there 
Still – it was my passion that ultimately got me there – and I’m proud of that! #everybusinessownersfavoritelastwords, but #soworththejourney
Discipline
Number four is definitely discipline. You can’t climb that mountain without the skills to get there and you’ve got to train for that. Did I put in my 10,000 hours? You bet. I needed every second and you do too. That’s what it takes no matter who you are. Everyone notable does it. You can too. Start right now.
Staying Power
Number five is the ability to stay the course – your staying power. Too many people throw in the towel when they don’t see results. You have to keep your eye on the prize and chip, chip, chip away at that stone before you see anything. It takes strength, vision and dedication to make anything worthwhile happen. Too many successful people want you to think it’s easier than it is. I don’t buy that for a second. I know what it took to get me here and I know what it has taken for all my successful students and friends. Make yourself a promise right now to never give up – ever. Onward and upward!
